Teaching Philosophy:
My fundamental goal is the mathematical empowerment of my students. I want them to understand and own the mathematical ideas and develop their own mathematical creativity and problem-solving ability. I understand mathematical thinking as a natural activity of the human mind and work to stimulate, support and nurture mathematical thinking in my students.

Experience:
I have taught mathematics, physics, German, linguistics and mathematics education at the high school and university levels.

Interests:
Writing in mathematics, language use in the mathematics classrom, Banach spaces, cognitive semantics, evolutionary psychology, equity issues in mathematics education

Research and Publications:
Teacher professional development,mathematics education reform, polynomials on Banach spaces, finite metric spaces, and discourse analysis (linguistics).
