Be prepared to discuss these ideas in class.

prose outline of your introduction for classmates.
NOTE: The following assignment is due Friday, 23 September and takes some time...

Complete the mini-course and submit an electronic copy
of your certificate of completion to Dr. H by Friday, 23 September.
NOTE: You will need to register as a "new user" to access the activity;
there are readings presented to you and then questions over the readings are asked;
do the reading; it will take a several hours to complete the mini-course.

- Read Chapter 9 in Creswell (2003).
- Read pages 12-16 of Kelly & Lesh (2000) and provide concise answers for each of
questions 1-6 (see pages 16-17). Your answers can be in outline or prose form.
In either case, write complete sentences.
- Read pages 35-44 in Kelly & Lesh.
- Begin work on a draft bibliography for proposal. Clearly identify: (a) resources already read and/or
reviewed, (b) those things to be read and reviewed before end of course; (c) items for later study. Bring outline
of list to class on 9/23. Written draft will be due on Friday, 30 September.
In class: Discussion of proposal progress and of cognition theory.

learning, and cognition related to keywords: Skinner, behaviorism, behaviorialism.
Make notes on what you find.
Be prepared to discuss these ideas and to provide URLs for your sources.
- Bring S&R NOTES on the chapter you chose on 9/16 to class.
In class: Discussion of readings, learning theory, and transcription activity.
NOTE: Choose one chapter from among Chapters 6 through 18 in Kelly & Lesh.
You will read and report on this chapter by the end of the week (see 9/30, below).

learning, and cognition related to keywords: Vygotsky, zone of proximal development, scaffolding.

preliminary bibliography). Bring to class copies for classmates.
