Responsibilities include 40% allotment of time toward scholarship and service. Service includes membership on the Graduate and Licensure Committees for the Department of Mathematical Sciences.

Responsibilities included assisting the Principal Researcher; entering, analyzing, and summarizing data; presenting analyses of research in written and oral form; assisting in data collection process; using statistical software packages; editing and creating written documents using a word processor; using spread sheets; creating PowerPoint presentations and templates.

Developed and edited several sections of the Mathematics TEKS Toolkit (http://www.tenet.edu/teks/math/) for the Texas Statewide Systemic Initiative, including Mathematics for All, Professional Development, and Program Development; created and edited HyperText Mark-up Language (HTML) documents using editors and code; created and edited graphics.

 

Teaching Experience

Responsibilities included a 60% allotment of time toward teaching.  Taught mathematics education courses, including content courses for elementary preservice teachers and the secondary mathematics methods course.

Prepared and presented lectures on data entry and analyses using SPSS as well as tutored graduate students in the course.

Taught two algebra courses during summer sessions for elementary, middle school, and high school in-service teachers using graphing calculators, Calculator-Based Laboratory (CBL) units, and computers.

Co-taught K-12 mathematics in-service teachers to use cooperative learning through the use of technology. Developers of the course included Dr. Ken Klopfenstein and Dr. Darel Hardy.

 

1990-1996             Mathematics Instructor, Front Range Community College/Larimer Campus

Taught mathematics courses, including Calculus I, II, and III, Survey of Calculus (for business degrees), Linear Algebra, Trigonometry, College Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, and Probability and Statistics.

Advised students regarding mathematics course selection.

Committee work included Faculty Senate executive committee, accountability committee, and faculty selection and awards committees as well as chaired the Larimer County Candidates Forum Committee.

Administered a budget, supervised a student assistant, and recommended and assisted student activities as faculty advisor for Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society for two-year and junior colleges.

Taught Calculus I and II and was lecturer for all self-paced, pre-calculus courses, including Matrices and Linear Equations, trigonometry, and algebra.
