Teaching Philosophy:
I believe students learn better if they have a chance to experience
directly what is discussed in the classroom. All computer science courses
that I teach depend strongly on laboratory exercises or projects. Courses
where students are required to learn will be appreciated by them at least
later. I have a very relaxed and open classroom. Hopefully students are
not afraid to ask questions. If I don't know the answer to a question I
will try to find one.

During my sabbatical during the fall semester of 1998 I have worked on
two Java programs. One of these is completed. The other is completed except
that I still have not figured out how to read and write files from an Applet.
The last link is a test program for me to check on security.
