Students in this area should be aware that several courses needed for graduation are offered only every other year. Specifically, in order to graduate in four years, either Math 431 and Math 432 or Math 460 must be taken as a Junior.
Students who wish to go on to graduate school should
consider taking at least one graduate-level mathematics class while still
an undergraduate. This should be discussed with your advisor. Other
experiences which could be invaluable for those seeking graduate work
include being a part of the Putnam team, competing in the mathematical
modeling competition or working with a faculty member on an independent
research topic (there is more information on these under the Department
Activities section off the main home page for the Department).
