For those who wish to work applying statistical methods to problems in business and industry. This emphasis requires a student to develop a solid mathematical background before taking three statstics courses. Graduates are qualified for entry-level statistician positions in industry or can attend graduate school in statistics. Working for high-tech firms, for large companies in the area of quality control, and developing marketing surveys are examples of possible employment opportunities with this emphasis.
